For those who didn't know this yet, the piano beginning of this track is taken from Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (hence the title of Moonlight and Madness).

That blew me away honestly. I've been playing for several years and know people who have been playing since childhood that can't even play like that. I had a few of them listen to it and they looked frightened at the thought of attempting to play something like that. I can't say I blame them lol
it's a good song but these guys used to be savatage when they had balls..obviously they did Christmas eve saraevo saw it went viral or in those days "sold albums" and said wait this is,working let's get along with it and wear suits instead of torn Jeans and hairspray :)..Joel hokestra is with them now and this guy can play!!
What the founders of TSO did was rare and un heard of. A rock group starting up a side project while maintaining their own band. A project that involved very different styles of music compared to beforehand; and it became a growing hit. I'd say it took more balls to create and go along with that, after Savatage was already established.
From "BLN",Best thing they've ever done . Chris and Al ARE two of the world's best progressive guitarists,Duet is "DOPE"-best I've EVER seen ! [RIP -Universal Amphtheatre]

Moonlight sonata 3rd movement
Thanks, I thought it sounded like a piano song I heard before.
Moonlight Sonata is one of my favorite classical music pieces, its partly what brought me here :)
3rd movement, but what about the rest?
That’s exactly the info I was after!
Sounds like old school NFL music

How in the hell can someone play the keyboard that fast? I think they had to have a lot of practice.

If I'm correct, the person playing this is Vitalij Kuprij. He's a Ukrainian pianist. Truly fantastic at what he does.
very very cool
Al petrelli crunching the power chords
Their musci is just so so so good. I love it
Boring.........
Great piece, I just wish the recording didn't cut out the last bit
Always hated heavy metal until now! Love this!
great decision on changing your opinion. Id recommend if you like the orchestral sorta sound symphony x
Trans-Siberian Orchestra is not heavy metal...
Matt - Kun True, its symphonic metal, but lets not confuse the poor child.
How else will he learn then? Who better to learn from than maestro such as myself? Lol
Matt - Kun true dat. you are the greatest metal sensi around after all. My master trained at your Dojo 2 thousand years ago.
This piece is AWESOME

Yes Classical music was metal without the electricity.
